Mark fixes things. He builds things. He's good with his hands. I'd say he's a handyman. Apparently his children think so, too. Or maybe not.
Recently, we discovered our hot water heater has been leaking for quite some time. We didn't figure it out until one of the boys noticed in the upstairs bathroom that the ceiling had water damage. We called a plumber and our insurance company immediately.
The pipe was fixed although it's recommended that the water heater be replaced. We were also given an estimate for a claim for the damage done. Mark set about finding someone to fix the ceilings (bathroom and living room both have water damage).
A gentleman showed up today to give us an estimate. Our curious boys followed Mark and the man to see what was going on. One of the boys asked, "Dad, why is that man here?" Mark said, "He's here to look at our ceilings and see if he can fix them." I was in the next room, but was able to hear Nathan say, "But Dad, you can fix it with your tools!" I was so moved to hear our son sweetly admiring his daddy sure of his handyman skills. That is until approximately one second later Joel said, "Well, Nathan...Daddy isn't a genius."
Keeping it real. Just keeping it real! LOL
