Gymnast of the Month

Joel was just named "Gymnast of the Month"! We are so proud of him. He received it for his good attitude and hard work. His coach gave him a medal and certificate. They took his picture which will be displayed in the gym lobby for this month. He was just beaming when he got it. He truly loves gymnastics. He practices his handstands almost daily at home. That's about the only skill that he can logistically practice in our house. Every week it's fun to see him be introduced to a new skill. Some of them freak me out a little like yesterday when he was on the parellel bars and had to swing his legs up into a handstand. His coach was spotting him, but it's just not something I'm used to seeing him do. I watch some of the older boys do flips and such across the floor and it just boggles my mind that Joel might do that someday! For now, we're just happy he enjoys it so much and that he received such a nice affirmation for his good attitude and effort each week.
