Well, it's been said that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. I'm not sure the same could be said of young boys. They can be kind of picky eaters sometimes. However, we've discovered the way to a boy's heart is through LEGOs! Mark and has spent the past two days cleaning out the garage (yet again). It seems to collect stuff and that stuff multiplies creating more stuff.
While cleaning out he pulled down his box of Legos. These are from his childhood. He kept them along with booklets on how to make stuff. His mom had them in her attic or somewhere for years and gave them to Mark a few years back. He's been waiting to give them to his sons. Today was the day. He called them out to the garage and showed them his lego stash. Now, they already have a huge Lego bin, but I guess there was something about getting Dad's Legos.
The boys came running in from the garage to share the wonderful news. Seth announced "THIS IS THE MOST GLORIOUS DAY OF MY LIFE!!" Yes, he used those exact words. He showed me this awesome gift from his dad and off he went upstairs followed by Joel and Nathan who were equally enthusiastic.
As I type this I hear them up there playing with their new Legos. Who knew some thirty year old bits of plastic could bring such joy to their little hearts?!
